Galamsey: Let The Law On Mining Work – Dep. Education Minister-Designate

Deputy Education Minister-designate and Assin South MP, John Ntim Fordjour has called on the law enforcers to ensure the country's laws work on illegal miners.

He was commenting on the jail sentence of three Ghanaian illegal miners who have been imprisoned for 45 years collectively.

The Deputy Minister-designate noted that to stop the illegal mining, the laws must be effectively enforced to serve as deterrent.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'', he wondered why when Ghanaians will break their own laws but comply with the laws when overseas.

He also took a swipe at the Chinese illegal miners in Ghana stating they can't go to other foreign nations to engage in illegalities, so wondering why they come to Ghana and undertake illegal activities.

To him, it all comes down to one thing and that is ''we should let the laws work''.
