EC Re-opens Application for Vote Transfer, Proxy Voting from 3rd to 5th July

The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced that it will re-open applications for persons who want to transfer their votes on Wednesday, 3rd July through to Friday, 5th July, 2024.

This announcement was contained in a press statement issued on July 2, 2024, and signed by the Deputy Director, Research and Evaluation, Mr. Fred Tetteh.

Excerpts from the letter reads, “This comes to inform the General Public that the Electoral Commission will re-open the Applications for the Transfer of Votes and Proxy Voting across the country for Security Agencies in all its District Offices across the country.”

The Electoral Commission stated that, it will, as part of the vote transfer exercise, extend the Application for the Transfer of votes to twenty-five (25) Public Universities and Prisons facilities across the country.

“Additionally, the Commission will extend the Application for the Transfer of Votes to twenty-five (25) Public Universities and Prisons Facilities across the country."

The exercise will take place from Wednesday, 3rd July, to Friday, 5th July, 2024.”

The Commission further announces that the application for special voting will be re-opened for the Media and Security Agencies from Saturday 6th July, to Sunday, 7th July, 2024.

“Furthermore, the Application for Special Voting will be re-opened for the Media and Security Agencies from Saturday, 6th July, to Sunday, 7th July, 2024.”
