EC Pays 116, 211 2023 District Level Elections Temporary Staff, 47 Outstanding 

The Electoral Commission has announced that it has paid almost all of their temporary staff who participated in the December 2023, District level elections.

In a statement released on 8th May, 2024, the commission noted that it is modernizing its recruitment process for temporary employees, by digitizing its data collection systems.

According to the Electoral Commission, the initiative being taken by the Commission will enhance and improve the payment methods for all temporary officials which will prevent delays in terms of payment.

The letter from the Commission signed by its acting Director, Public Affairs, Mr. Michael Boadu revealed that, with the new modernisation, the current and future temporary staff of the commission should be expecting their salaries on time.

According to the Electoral Commission, out of a total number of 0ne hundred and sixteen thousand, two hundred and fifty-eight (116,258) temporary workers, the Commission has been able to pay 0ne hundred and sixteen thousand, two hundred and eleven (116,211) amounting to sixty-nine million, one hundred and sixty-four thousand, eight hundred and forty-two Ghana cedis, eleven pesewas (Ghc 69,164,842.11).

The Commission has an outstanding of Twenty-four thousand, two hundred and sixty-three Ghana cedis, sixteen pesewas (Ghc 24,263.16) for the remaining forty seven (47) staff.
