Health Minister To Deliver Vaccine Refrigerators, Vehicles To Hospitals Across The Country

Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, Dormaa Central MP and the Minister of Health, will on Thursday deliver refrigerating equipment ahead of the arrival of new Covid-19 vaccines in the country later this month.

The items consist of 50 vaccine refrigerators, 58 ultra-low freezers, 300 vaccine ice-pack freezers and host of other laboratory equipment to hospitals across the country.

Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu will also present 10 land Cruiser vehicles for the upcoming exercise.

The equipment are part of the processes in preparation for receiving million doses of the covid-19 vaccines.

Details

A source at the Health Ministry indicated that, as part of efforts to fight the new variant in the country, government has imported these equipment with the aim to get them in on time so as to facilitate the distribution of the vaccines to health facilities across the country.

The refrigerators, the source noted, would enable the health centers to store million of doses of vaccines coming into the country.

On Thursday, ''the Minister will unveil the equipment and spell out the distribution and refrigeration plan for the various health centers across the country'', the source added.

Classification

The equipment imported has the potential of storing vaccines at -80 degrees Celsius.
