SAD!!! How A 5-Year-Old Child Was Looking For The Mother Who Died In The Kyekyewere Accident

The Kyekyewere accident which occurred around 4.30 am on Tuesday involved a cargo truck and two (2) commercial buses.

Recent updates show that 14 people have died and over 50 injured. The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Suhum and Nsawam government hospitals.

'Confused' 5-year-old child

The Eastern Regional Director of the National Road Safety Commission, Mr Abdulai Bawa Ghansah reacting to the accident in an interview on Neat FM's Me Man Nti programme, narrated how a child was clutching on to the mother's slippers wondering where she is.

"one of the ladies who died and left her five-year-old child was seen looking for the mother holding her slippers she was just walking around looking for the mother" he indicated sadly.

According to him, "she is currently in the hands of the police"

Details of accident

In a report filed by Peace FM's Eastern Regional correspondent, Michael Akrofi, the Cargo truck which was heading towards Kumasi direction from Accra burst a tyre causing the driver to veer off his lane into the lane of an oncoming STC bus followed by another bus.

The buses involved in the accident were an STC bus with registration number GE 8131-16 and another Bus with registration number GT 4997-20.
